“Fully committed to ongoing training and development as we offer our patients treatments that will enhance their oral health”

Dental Directions have two practices situated in Sheffield offering the best in NHS and private care.

The majority of our patients are treated via the NHS with the rest seeing us privately through the Practice Plan scheme. We will discuss with patients the full range of options, both NHS and private.

All dentists are fully committed to ongoing training and development as we want to offer our patients treatments that will enhance their oral health and smile. All have completed advanced restoration courses with the country’s leading aesthetic specialists, this enables us to be absolutely confident that our treatment options are as up to date as they can be.

Both practices are fully equipped to the highest standards and we pride ourselves that we use high quality materials as well as techniques.

In February 2008 we opened a four surgery extension at Southey Hill which was built in conjunction with Sheffield University, to train final year dental students. Students come to us for a six week block of time to treat patients under the guidance of our own dental team.

This development was a response to the success of a pilot scheme tried out at Southey in 2005.

Outside the surgery both practice principals have an ongoing interest and commitment to the training and development of future dentists and the maintenance of quality and good practice. Simon Lidster runs courses in Endodontics (root canals) for both newly qualified and experienced dentists.

“The practice has an ongoing commitment to the BDA Good Practice Scheme and Investors in People. These accreditations are awarded after vigorous training, checks and quality standard control. After an IIP review in May 2008 the practice was praised for the high quality of its people development and management skills.”
